The Association of Road Transport Enterprises, ČESMAD BOHEMIA, is the most active association of transport enterprise in domestic as well as international passenger and freight transport. At present it represents approx. 1,900 enterprises with a fleet of almost 20,000 vehicles. ČESMAD BOHEMIA is a member of the International Road Transport Union seated in Geneva.

Current situation:
Within the framework of efforts aiming to minimise software costs, to make asset registration more efficient and to ensure all software used is legal, we purchased the PCInfo audit tool in 2004. After three months we found the tool to be unsatisfactory and we deployed some competing software, Office Manager. During the deployment of the product our long-term partner was asked to assist in the implementation. Late in 2006 they recommended a transfer to AuditPro which, according to their words, should solve all our problems. Based on their recommendations we began product testing and went live in December 2006.

Solution description:
The ČESMAD BOHEMIA IT department has a long-term task monitoring licence statuses in Prague headquarters and seven regional offices. This is the reason why the headquarters had implemented AuditPro on a Linux server, running the VmWare application, which works as a virtual PC with Windows XP on it.

To collect data, we launched the TCP/IP technology for desktops as well as notebooks. The Login script, originally planned for notebooks was not applied in the end since the users connect to the network at least once a week. During stage one, only the headquarters were included in the domain. In future the regional offices are also planned to be included in the implementation.

Registration of assets like the peripheries or mobile phones was a long-term ache. Therefore the asset management module, besides the basic licence management functions, captivated our attention. AuditPro allowed us to register all assets under IT management and thanks to the barcode module it made the stocktaking to be an afternoon exercise.
